Scattering Delay Network Simulator of Coupled Volume Acoustics

Artificial reverberators provide a computationally viable alternative to full-scale room acoustics simulation methods for deployment in interactive, immersive systems. Scattering delay network (SDN) is an artificial reverberator that allows direct parametric control over the geometry of simulated cuboid enclosure, as well directional characteristics sound sources and microphones. This paper extends concept SDN multiple enclosures coupled via aperture. The extension independent acoustical properties size connecting Transfer functions coupled-volume are derived. effectiveness proposed method evaluated terms rendered energy decay curves comparison ray-tracing models scale model measurements.
